Severn Township is part of Simcoe County in southern Ontario. It encompasses almost 550 sq. km. of land. The Sunshine City of Orillia is located at its most southern point. To the east is the western shore of Lake Couchiching and the Severn River. And to the north through Sparrow Lake is the Trent-Severn Waterway which marks the southern border to the Muskokas’ majestic granite Canadian Shield and hundreds of lakes and waterways. To the western border one has access to more Muskoka Lakes and the mighty Georgian Bay.
With its unique location as the gateway to the Muskokas, Kawartha Lakes and Midland-Penetanguishene, Severn is obviously a four-season nature lovers paradise. With unparalleled opportunities to take to the water in your boat, jet ski or canoe, or to hit the ice in winter by snowmobile and take advantage of some of the best ice fishing the province has to offer. Whether it is salmon fishing on Lake Simcoe or a day’s picnic boating to Beausoleil Island on Georgian Bay, Severn offers outdoor enthusiasts year round adventures.
