Living in Etobicoke
Etobicoke condos suit a range of buyers, including first-time buyers, people downsizing, and those who want a lower-maintenance home closer to the lake. The homes on this page are in three neighbourhoods: Mimico, Islington-City Centre West, and Humber Bay. Each offers a different pace, so it helps to think about your daily routine when you compare them.
Humber Bay is known for its waterfront. Humber Bay Shores Park sits on lakefill and is part of the Martin Goodman Trail, which links Etobicoke to Toronto's east end along the shoreline. For buyers who like walking, cycling, or spending time outdoors, this is a major draw.
Getting around is a key consideration. Mimico GO Station, in Toronto, is getting accessibility and amenity upgrades as part of Lakeshore West line work. Woodbine GO Station is planned for Highway 27 in north Etobicoke and will replace Etobicoke North GO at 1949 Kipling Avenue once it opens. The Eglinton Crosstown LRT West Extension would add 9.2 km of line west into Etobicoke and Mississauga. These projects are not yet complete, so check current timelines before making plans that depend on them.
Families will find a range of school options. The Toronto District School Board runs schools across Etobicoke, including Kipling Collegiate Institute and Etobicoke Collegiate Institute, and Central Etobicoke High School at 10 Denfield St offers an alternative curriculum. Toronto Catholic District School Board options include Monsignor Percy Johnson Catholic Secondary School at 2170 Kipling Avenue and St. Eugene Catholic School at 30 Westroyal Road.
For green space, James Gardens along the Humber River offers formal gardens and spring-fed pools, and the Etobicoke Valley Park trail follows Etobicoke Creek to Marie Curtis Park and the Lake Ontario waterfront. Etobicoke General Hospital is at 101 Humber College Boulevard.
