About the project
Burke Condos is a new condo development by Concert currently under construction at 603 Sherbourne Street, Toronto.
This new condo project is an ambitious project that involves the restoration of several heritage buildings as well as the addition of a new condominium tower, mixed-use podiums and a public park. The first tower is a 53 storey building with a total of 501 units offering a mix of one bedrooms, one bedrooms plus den, two bedrooms, two bedrooms plus den and 3 bedrooms.
It’s divided into three separate blocks. Block one is located on the northeast corner of Sherbourne and Howard Streets and will have a 53-storey condominium tower, along with a two-storey podium along Sherbourne Street and a three-storey mixed-use building along Howard Street. This block will also include a series of existing heritage buildings that will be restored and potentially used for retail space. The proposal calls for 501 residential units in total and six levels of underground parking with 304 stalls.
The second block is located on Glen Road, south of Bloor, and proposes to conserve six semi-detached heritage buildings for residential use. In addition, the proposal calls for the construction of seven three-storey residential townhomes along a lane behind these houses. These townhomes will have access to the underground parking garage in block one.
Both blocks will be connected by a two-storey podium fronting Howard Street and an eight-storey podium fronting Bloor Street East. These podiums will contain a mix of residential, commercial, and retail space.
Location & Neighbourhood
The location of the Burke Condos is in downtown Toronto, a vibrant area that offers a mix of modern amenities and historic charm. The immediate neighbourhood is characterized by an eclectic selection of shops, cafes, and walk-up apartment buildings, creating a strong community vibe.
The area is currently undergoing transformation, with several exciting developments underway, including a residential and retail complex along Bloor Street, an upscale condominium and hotel complex on Sherbourne Street, and a residential condominium north of 603 Sherbourne Street.
