Single detached homes and townhouses are the predominant housing type in Georgina. About 20% of properties in this town were constructed after the year 2000, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1960s. This town offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Roughly 85% of the properties in the town are occupied by homeowners and the rest are rented.
Driving is a great means of transportation in Georgina. Finding a parking spot is easy. In contrast, the public transit network in Georgina is quite poor. Nevertheless, residents benefit from a few bus lines. A majority of the homes for sale in this part of the Greater Toronto metropolitan area are located in places that are not very well-suited for walking as carrying out day-to-day needs is very inconvenient. Georgina is also not very amenable to bicycling as the cycling infrastructure is not very well-developed, and there is a considerable amount of elevation changes.
There are only a very small number of high schools and primary schools in Georgina and therefore they can be a very long walk away. Moreover, daycares are not numerous and thus not always within walking distance. Regarding eating, in all but a very small number of cases, a car is required to buy groceries in one of approximately 10 stores.
Most areas in Georgina are reasonably quiet, as there isn’t a lot of street noise or city clamour. Public green spaces aren’t well-spread out, resulting in them being very difficult to get to from the majority of locations in the town.
